In more recent history...

As if you haven't see enough... here's more of our adventures over the last several months.

Each month the wives of Nate's friends and I try to do a Girl's Night. I hosted in July. Somehow I came up with the idea that we should dress up in Victorian period clothing and have a brunch (at dinner time) in the park. We called it a Garden Brunch. Well, not many were able to make it, but those of us that did had fun. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how much everyone got into their costumes. Here are some pictures from our get-together.

See the centerpiece...I Made it! I was proud! I think it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

The spread

Me in my outfit.

Jessica Benson and I

So, Jessica peiced her outfit together. Doesn't she look great! Rachel, Becky and I felt lazy when we realized Jessica and Raquel had to piece items together. I especially love the parasol and fan.

I Love that they made their outfits. The following pictures are of them and their dresses...

Thanks for coming girls. It was a fun night. We all went back to my apartment to watch Hello Dolly after the park. If anyone is interested in attending our girls nights please let me know. The more the merrier.

About a month or two ago we went on a quick camping trip up to Ledgefork near Smith and Morehouse. We went with Cameron and Jessica Benson and Jessica's sister Raquel. It was a good time. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

What a great weekend. I love camping. Can't wait till next summer!

We also went up to Yellowstone with Nate's family for the 24th of July weekend. It was nice to relax and hang out with the family. Grammy and Grampy Livingston joined us as well. Here's what we did.

We did some 4-wheelin...

A little dirty boys?

We fed the fish...

We saw a show...

This is Nate and our niece aubree with the cowboy.

We played some lawn bowling, or bocce, or bulles... take your pick.

Now this was funny! We took a boat ride on the river. Well, this boat did not have a motor, WE were the motor. Nate and his dad propelled us along on our ride. It was almost comical watching both of them think they knew best how to steer. Well, we were moving veerrrryyyyy slowly at times. You may be wondering why this is a problem. We were floating down a river...relaxing, right? Well, if you were there you would realize that storm clouds were ever more quickly coming our way. There was lightning in the near distance. If you remember from your science classes, Lightning + water+ people = bad things. For the life of me I couldn't get Nate or Kim to realize the urgency of us getting to the end. I was not about to pull to the side, get out, and carry a metal boat in the rain back to the dock. I prefer rowing all the way there. I sat for a while watching the clouds inch closer, every once in a while I'd try to motivate our dual motors to increase our speed. Finally, I had had enough... I took over. I rowed as fast and as hard as I possibly could. Kim followed my lead. I guess leading by example is the best way. After about 30 seconds I thought I might pass out, but kept going. Afterall, I had motivation looming above me. One other thing I should mention... I'm pretty certain that the very moment I took over as the rear motor the wind thought he'd challenge me and blow even harder. There were times were we didn't move anywhere. We finally made it to the dock, and just in time too. It started raining as we got out of the boat. It was a good time! I really did have fun. It was just me, Nate, Kim, JoLynn, and Dick. Here are a few pictures we took along the way.

the original rear motor

We also did a little fishing. We went very early one morning hoping to see some wildlife. All we saw was a pelican. bummer. also, i did not catch any fish. good thing i was fishing for our dinner, we would have starved.

Eric and Aubree fishing with her barbie fishing pole.

Sally bating her hook. Man I put the worm on my hook. I'm not a fan of it squirming as you jab a sharp hook through it's body. Gross!!

JoLynn getting a little fishing in.

Of course we went to Yellowstone...

old faithful

nate thought this was hilarious. remember...don't walk into the geysers

Yellowstone was Beautiful. We'll have to go to another part next time we're up there.

These last two pictures I took for Hayley. I wish I had pictures of us on my computer from our college days. Hayley and I used to love driving up to Park City just to hang out for the day. One day we spent our time driving all around the city taking pictures with huge statues of Moose that were decorated. Well, while shopping in Yellowstone I saw these buffalo and thought of Hayley.

It was a great family trip. David, my brother-in-law, and I voted to go to Aisa next year. We'll see how that goes.

Grand re-entrance into the Blogging World!

So, as most of you know I have been on blogging hiatus for over a year now. For the few of you who actually read my blog, I am sorry. I have found a desire to blog again. I really want people to have a place to see a small part of the going-ons in our lives because it's so hard to see everyone these days. This will be a really long post, so sit back, relax, and catch up on a few of the fun things we have done over the last year...

As you can see in my post a year ago, my brother was due home in June of 2008. He did make it home safely. It was so fun to see him. I was most excited for him to meet Nate. Thankfully they get along great! Here are a few pics from when he came home.

The Happy together again family

Brothers

We took this one because we took one just like it before he left. (minus Nate of course)

And of course we were up the canyon playing board games the day after he got home. My mom was not about to let him go anywhere until she got to spend time with him.

Well, Spencer coming home is old news, so I'll move onto the next fun thing.

Last October we took a trip to California with Nate's family. It was a lot of fun. We drove out there with Sara, Eric and our two nieces. We were really squished in the durango by the time we loaded all of our crap in. While in California we went to SeaWorld, Universal Studio's (too bad Conan's show wasn't playing there when we went), DisneyLand and California Adventure. We had way too much fun. I took entirely too many pictures while there, but who could blame me. Nate had given me a brand new waterproof camera 4 days before we went. I Love my camera. I was so excited for SeaWorld so I could try out the camera. You'll see pictures below. If you'd like to see all 6 CD's of pictures give me a call. Here is a small portion...

We walked to the beach in the dark

We were about to get wet

Nate and his mom. Doesn't she have a cute hat?

Notice the mickey hat. He didn't know his mom put it on him.

We rode home in the back of the car one night.

Notice the SPARKLER on the dessert.

The green ice-cream was pistachio flavored. Nasty!

Me and my menu at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Love that place! Best Monte Carlo sandwhiches ever!!

Nate and I at the Blue Bayou

Kim and JoLynn joined us

As you can see, Nate's eyes are covered. Scary ride honey?

Star Tours is one of JoLynn's favorite rides

Nate took this picture in the Coy Pond

An entire city of Leaning buildings? Did we go to Pisa? It was a facade.

I finally got to ride the madderhorn. It's always closed when I go.

Check out these sunglasses.

We had fun in the pool with our new waterproof camera

Loved this show! I wish I could train an orca

Aubree and I went to see the sharks twice cause she wanted to ride the moving sidewalk.

Imagine if that was coming at you in the ocean

I wanna swim with dolphins one day

Aubree was so excited to see elmo

Me and my star.

I took this picture at SeaWorld. I like it.

Aubree being a flamingo.

I wish I had video of the ray attacking nate with water after he took a picture with the flash. It was Hilarious!!

Waterworld was a good show

Gotta love my face. I never claimed to be an actress.

Nate at the local Kwik-e-Mart

If you look really closely, you'll see us.

Jurassic Park ride

That man was real. He was not a statue. Kim waited for so long hoping he'd do something to me when he took the picture. No such luck.

David, Sally, and Kim at Universal Studios

We really want to go back. We had so much fun!

Moving on... Being our first Christmas married it was a lot of fun. We got a live tree, which was fun, but a pain as well. I LOVE the smell though, it's almost worth the pain of watering it and cleaning up the needles. Here are some Christmas pictures. It was a great Christmas!

Nate and our short little tree

He had to cut off the legs to get it to fit into the stand. The funny thing is, we don't own a saw and it was midnight-ish at this point, so we couldn't call to borrow one. He improvised and used a knife and hammer.

video
Here's video. It was pretty funny!

We finally got it up. The cute tree skirt my mother-in-law made for us. Thanks JoLynn!

Here I am putting the lights on the tree. What a PAIN!!!! In the future I am buying a pre-lit tree if I can. My fake smile shows how much I enjoyed putting the lights on the tree.

Yay, all the lights are on!

Here it is decorated. I think it turned out all right. The picture really doesn't do it justice.

This was before it was finished, I had just put the ribbon on.

This is our nativity. Christmas from Nate's parents.

I couldn't find pictures of our gifts, but I have them. Nate gave me pearls, I gave him an african udu drum. It looks like a clay pot and sound really cool when played right. We got the George Forman Deep Fryer from my parents and lots of different stuff from Nate's family. There were many other gifts, but I don't want to bore you.

We spent a weekend at the Cabin up near Smith and Morehouse with some friends. We always have fun up there. We play games, eat a lot, watch movies, play in the snow, and snowmobile. Here are some photos from our trip.

It's beautiful up there!

Believe it or not, I took this on the back of the snowmobile while riding.

Drying our clothes by the fire

We did a little of this...

...and some of this...

...and this...

...and this.

Here I am bundled and ready to ride.

We also celebrated our buddy Cameron's birthday while we were there.

Jessica and I decorated while everyone was playing in the snow

Here are a couple videos of us playing in the snow.

Weekends at the cabin are always fun! Can't wait for it to start snowing!

March 11, 2009 was our 1 year Anniversary! Wow did that first year go by fast! This day was also the day Nate's best friend Garrett Olson and his wife Rachel got married. Here are some pictures from that day. Happy Anniversary to us and Happy Wedding day to the Olson's!

Here's the happy couple coming out of the Temple.

I thought her hair was cool. She did it herself!

That night they just had a sit-down dinner

This was us on our Anniversary. So happy to have made it 1 year!

That night we drove up to Park City and stayed in the same hotel we did on our wedding night.

The next day they had a reception at Le Jardin in Sandy, UT

This is us at the reception

Wayne took this amazing picture of himself. I posted it just for him.

and here was the cake. It was cool with the curled chocolate.

It was a good couple of days. No, we didn't get to go do our own thing, but we had fun sharing our day with 2 of our greatest friends. Now Rachel and I just have to convince the boys we don't have to spend EVERY anniversary together, just some.

For those of you still with me, I hope you are enjoying. We took a trip to Pittsburgh over Easter weekend with my family. My mom's only sister lives there with her family, so we went to spend time with them. We had a lot of fun.

On our way to the Airport. I guess I missed the part where we decided not to smile.

We went to the Science Center. Nate wants to make one of these. Wouldn't that be cool?

My cousin Maddie wrote this imagined conversation she had with Nate. Funny!

Playing frisbee at the park

We went to Carnegie museum. This is what we found in the hall of birds. Tweety, Roadrunner, Toucan Sam and others. And if you look closely you'll notice the birds lying flat on there backs. We found this very odd. You'd think such a well known museum would have the time and facilities to display their birds properly.

We also found a Alice in Wonderland door in the hall of birds.

This is nate with a Mongolian instrument called a Murunhur (aka: horse-head fiddle)

Some of you may recognize this from the Ghostbuster movie. It's the Catherdral of learning. Zule lands here.

This and the following several pictures are all inside the Cathedral of Learning. It's part of Pitt-U. They have classes decorated like countries around the world. They hold classes in them too.

Yes, a fireplace in the classroom. I would love that. I'd have no problems going to school if this were my classroom.

video
This is a video of my dad at the airport. He is such a dork sometimes. He did this without a word. We laughed so hard when we realized what he was doing. Watch and enjoy!

Nate's 26th Birthday was on July 7th. We celebrated with both families and went out to dinner with friends at Rodizio Grill. I just wanted to show you the fun hat we get to wear at Johnson family birthday parties.

The candles on top even light up and it plays the song. It's hilarious!

Tom and Soulee at Rodizio grill being super cheesy

Cameron and Jessica

Thanks to all who came to dinner. We always eat well at Rodizio!

So, when Wicked came through town Nate and I were able to go see it Thanks to JoLynn (Nate's mom). It was soooooo good! If you ever have an opportunity to see it, do!

Nate recently got Scuba Certified. He had a lot of fun. He now wants me to get certified so we can dive on cruises and vacations. I think it would be cool, but am also nervous. What if I see a Shark!!! Here are some pictures from his final dive with the class.

Folks, that girl is petting a SHARK! Apparently they are tame and eat lettuce, but still!

Last October we had a couple of Halloween parties. First, Amy Wittwer, Heather Lloyd and I planned a halloween party for freinds. Almost everyone was able to come. We had a lot of fun!

Garrett dressed as the Unibomber

Nate and I dressed in traditional Mongolian clothing. They still wear these outfits sometimes.

Greg, not dressed up. I guess he missed the part about it being a HALLOWEEN party

Adam too

Troy and Jeni. And yes...that's a real pumpkin on his head. It was awesome!

Creepy Chase

Clint and Emily

David and Heather

Blake and Amanda

Jon and Briana. Groovy Man!

Cathy and Amy

Marcus and Amy

Thanks for coming Everyone!

On Halloween our friends Cameron and Jessica hosted a murder mystery party. Jessica chose to celebrate her birthday by hosting one of these parties. It was fun!

Who done it?

Drinks are served! Don't worry, they were virgin.

If you haven't done one of these parties, you should!

And here are a few pictures of Nate, Garrett and I carving pumpkins...

And the last item on the agenda for this very long post is a funny video of my dad when he was in the hospital recovering from having his appendix removed. He was on drugs and just a little crazy!

Ok, so I have to explain before you watch. He needed to go for a walk to avoid blood clots. We walked down the hall and around the lobby. He stopped to look out a window while in the lobby. The next thing my mom and I know, he's waiving. We asked who to and his reply was this... "I'm just waiving at anyone who might be down there looking up here wondering who's in the window." ... what!? It was funny. I began recording right after this hoping to capture another moment such as that. He walks across the lobby, which took a very long time for how small the distance was. When he gets to the other side there is another window. I prompt him to waive again merely by mentioning the people I see walking down below. He begins to waive again. Maybe the video doesn't quite capture how funny it was, but knowing my dad helps. Enjoy!

Welcome Home Elder!

My younger brother Spencer comes home from his mission in 2 weeks!! He has been serving in the Leeds England mission for the past 2 years. I am counting down the days until he comes home. I am so proud of him for his decision to serve the Lord and the people of England. I know he has truly enjoyed it. His weekly emails are evidence of this. He is excited, yet really sad to have to leave. I am excited to get to know the new and improved Spencer. We were good friends before his mission and I'm excited to start our new relationship. I am also excited for him to meet Nate. They have never met. Nate and I started dating about 2 months after Spencer left. I think they'll get along. Nate and Collin have a good time together and Spencer is a lot like Collin. We have the whole weekend planned. He flies in Thursday night and then we are hanging out as a family all day Friday. We'll probably go up the canyon and chat, eat, and play games. Saturday night is the BBQ for freinds and Sunday is his homecoming. I'll post pictures from that weekend later, so stay tuned. See ya in two weeks little bro!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!!

Today is the 2 year Anniversary of my good friends...Marcus and Amy Wittwer. I wanted to let you guys know how happy I am for you. It's hard to believe that it's really been two years. I remember the day so well. What a great day! To this day I'm glad I got to spend the whole day with you. I was lucky enough to be Amy's maid-of-honor. I had several responsiblilities, including keeping track of the gnome at the temple. They decided to bring a gnome along to put in some of their pictures. (Ya know, the roaming gnome). It was funny! I also remember Amy eating a candybar in her dress and Marc telling her she may not want to do that because she might spill. Amy ignored his warning and continued to eat the candybar, and the next thing she new she had spilled. Cathy and I had to find wipes of some sort to get the chocolate off the dress. She made us promise not to tell Marc. Good times! Anyway, I love you guys! Thanks for the years of friendship and I look forward to many more. Happy Anniversary!!!

Happy 16th Birthday on June 2nd!!

This post is a few days late, but I wanted to dedicate a post to my little brother. He turned 16 this past Monday. I can hardly believe it. I still think of him as my cute baby brother, but now he's a tall, nerdy, teenager. He's lots of fun to hang out with now though. I feel bad because he used to get left out of a lot of things when we were younger because he was the annoying youngest brother, but we love to do stuff with him now. Nate and I love to invite him to do stuff with us.

To celebrate his birthday on Monday we went to dinner at Shivers and then went to the driving range. Collin likes golfing. He's pretty good. He took lessons when he was younger and now has his own clubs, so he goes every once in a while. I wish I had pictures of us. Apparently my swing was commical. My dad taught me to swing it like a pendulum, but keep my head down, so that's what I did. Nate was making fun of me - not that that's anything new.

Anyway, I love ya little brother! Happy 16th birthday!
